Change of Command

There was a Change of Command ceremony for the Army Command this past week.  They held the ceremony at Fort Concho,  a historic fort which served as a frontier outpost from 1867-1889.  So I drug the kids out of bed in time to get there for the ceremony at 0800.  The fact that it was at the old fort added to the interest, because they fired off the old cannon.

Happy Birthday to me!

Noah wasn't able to help celebrate my birthday on Monday, because he had to work late that night.  So I took the kids out to eat anyway.  Michaela took this picture of Siah and I.  I thought that she did a really good job.

Pictures of the kids and I opening my presents when we did get a chance to actually celebrate my birthday on Wednesday.  Michaela was disappointed because I didn't get any toys.

We usually have both skim milk and whole milk on hand.  The other day, I finished both off at about the same time and set the empty jugs beside the trash.  A little while later, I heard the kids making quite a bit of noise that had an unusual echo to it.  I went to check on them and found that Josiah had went into the bedroom.  Needless to say, Michaela was now awake and Josiah was up on the bed too.  He had taken both milk jugs with him.  After they had drained the last few drops, they were singing into them.  Thus the "noise" that I was hearing.  They had quite a bit of fun with them.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to both of our Dads, all of the rest of the Dads out there, and especially to Noah!  Noah deserves a lot of extra credit this week.  I usually clean house on Tuesday, but I was just too exhausted to get it done this week.  So he helped me finish cleaning Friday night when he got home from work.  Then on Saturday, I wasn't feeling good, so he sent me back to bed while he watched the kids.  Not a very relaxing weekend for him, but I feel a ton better and am very thankful for him!

Come On Down To The Farm

Long week!

Hey!  What a week!  We had VBS this past week.  Michaela loved it!  This is the first year that she has been old enough to participate.  I helped with the 3-5 yr. olds, and during the times that we had them divided up even further, I was with the 3 yr. olds.  We had ten 3 yr. olds most nights.  I must say that having that many 3 yr. olds together is a challenge.  And then there were the few that were a CHALLENGE!  I'm sure you know the difference.  Anyway, we all survived, even our pastor's wife who was the leader of that age group.  Overall, we did have a good group of kids and good participation from the adults.  It was a fun, if exhausting, week.  Michaela is really starting to pick up Bible stories and concepts.  She is asking some challenging questions at times.  I am glad for it, but not sure if I am ready for it yet. I need a lot of wisdom for her questions!

Other than that, we have just been taking care of the routine "needs to get done" stuff.  We are working on housing for El Paso and trying to make a lot of other decisions about the near future.  It is a bit hard making decisions when there are so many unknowns.  In our small group study on Sunday nights we just started on a book The Cycle of Victorious Living.  The four elements in the cycle are: Commit to the Lord, Trust in the Lord, Delight in the Lord, Rest in the Lord.  I think that now is the perfect time for us to be having this Bible Study.  Enough said!!! =)

Everybody who knows me, knows that I like pictures.  But I have just been to tired to bother downloading.  So I will try to get that done in the next few days and get some new pics of the kids on here.  Have a great week!
